Description: 

Astaxanthin is a keto-carotenoid within a group of chemical compounds known as carotenones or terpenes.Astaxanthin is a metabolite of zeaxanthin and canthaxanthin, containing both hydroxyl and ketone functional groups. It is a lipid-soluble pigment with red coloring properties.

Astaxanthin is used in food, cosmetics, and medicine. It has strong antioxidant properties, can bring bright colors to fish and birds, and reduce the damage of ultraviolet rays to the skin.
