Product Description:

Magnesium Citrate is white or off-white powder. Non -toxic and non-corrosive, It is soluble in dilute acid, slightly soluble in water and ethanol. It is easily damp in air. Magnesium Citrate is a high-purity organic magnesium salt derived from citric acid. It is commercially available in Anhydrous and Nonahydrate (9-water) forms, which are the two mainstream specifications for global food and nutrition markets.

As a premium food-grade additive, Magnesium Citrate features high bioavailability, stable physical properties and excellent nutritional fortification performance. Anhydrous type contains higher elemental magnesium content and low hygroscopicity, suitable for solid food and powder formulas. Nonahydrate type has better water solubility and stable fluidity, widely used in beverages and liquid functional foods.

We supply food-grade Magnesium Citrate for food processing and nutritional supplementation.

The Applications of Magnesium Citrate

1. Food Grade Magnesium Citrate

1.1 Magnesium Nutritional Fortifier

Magnesium Citrate is one of the safest and most absorbable magnesium sources in food industry. It is widely added in functional foods, sports drinks, fortified beverages, dairy products, cereal products and health supplements to supplement essential magnesium elements, support human nerve function, muscle metabolism and bone health.

1.2. Food Stabilizer & Texture Improver

It acts as an effective stabilizer and pH buffer in food formulas. It stabilizes product acidity, improves texture uniformity, prevents ingredient precipitation and delamination, and maintains consistent flavor during shelf life.

1.3. Anti-Caking Agent for Powder Foods

Anhydrous magnesium citrate with low moisture absorption is ideal for powder premixes, seasoning powders and solid nutritional powders. It keeps powder loose, improves fluidity and avoids agglomeration during long-term storage.

1.4. Functional Additive for Health Food

Widely used in chewable tablets, effervescent tablets and dietary supplements due to high purity, good solubility and excellent human absorption rate.

2. Different Characteristics of Two Main Hydrates

2.1 Anhydrous Magnesium Citrate

2.1.1. Higher magnesium content (approx 16%)

2.1.2. Low hygroscopicity, stable for dry powder production

2.1.3. Suitable for solid supplements, tablets and powder food formulas

2.2. Nonahydrate Magnesium Citrate (9H₂O)

2.2.1.Excellent water solubility

2.2.2.Uniform crystal and good flowability

2.2.3.Ideal for liquid beverages, drinks and liquid functional food

3. Feed Grade

Used as high-efficiency magnesium mineral supplement for livestock and poultry feed to promote animal growth and metabolic balance.

4. Industrial Grade

Applied in chemical raw material synthesis and daily chemical auxiliary formulation.

Packing:

It is packed with polyethylene bag as inner layer, and a compound plastic woven bag as outer layer. The net weight of each bag is 25kg.

Storage & Transportation:

It should be stored in a dry and ventilative warehouse, kept away from heat and moisture during transportation, unloaded with care so as to avoid damage. Furthermore, it must be stored separately from poisonous substances.
