  Sodium Cyclamate

Cas no.: 139-05-9

Molecular formula:C6H12NNaO3S

Molecular weight:201.22

E No.: E952

Sodium cyclamate is an odorless, white crystalline powder. Sodium cyclamate is an artificial sweetener ~30–60 times sweeter than sucrose and is the least strong of commercially used sweeteners. It can be mixed with other artificial sweeteners, particularly saccharin; the mixture of 10:1 ratio of cyclamate and saccharin parts, respectively, is commonly used to mask the off-tastes of the two types of sweeteners. It is cheaper than most sweeteners and is stable upon heating.

Sodium Cyclamate used widely in food and beverages, such as in drinks, candied fruits, preserved fruits, cosmetics, toothpaste, used for household seasonings, such as cooking, used as a substitute sugar in patients with diabetes and obesity.
