Product Overview

Dicalcium Phosphate (DCP) is a calcium phosphate additive available in dihydrate and anhydrous forms. It is a white crystalline powder with stable chemical properties and good compatibility with feed and food ingredients.

The primary application of DCP is as a calcium and phosphorus source in compound feed. It supplies bioavailable calcium and phosphorus, which are essential minerals for bone development and metabolic processes. By balancing the dietary calcium-phosphorus ratio, DCP supports growth performance of livestock, poultry and aquaculture animals.

In food-grade applications, DCP functions as a leavening component in bakery formulations, reacting with bicarbonate during baking to release carbon dioxide. It also serves as an anti-caking agent and flow aid in powdered food systems, preventing moisture-induced agglomeration.

Dihydrate DCP is the standard grade used in conventional feed production. Anhydrous DCP contains no crystal water and is selected for formulations with stricter moisture control. Both forms share the same chemical function and differ mainly in crystal water content.

DCP is widely used in animal feed, bakery products, powdered food and nutritional fortification formulations.

Character

Dicalcium Phosphate is supplied as a white crystalline powder in dihydrate and anhydrous forms. It is odorless, stable under normal storage conditions, slightly soluble in water and readily soluble in dilute acids.

Dihydrate DCP contains two molecules of crystal water and is the most commonly used grade in feed manufacturing. Anhydrous DCP has no crystal water, with lower inherent moisture, suitable for low-moisture formulations. Both grades meet corresponding feed and food safety specifications with low heavy metal content.

Main Functions

1.Calcium & Phosphorus Fortifier (Core Function) Supply bioavailable calcium and phosphorus to compound feed, balance dietary calcium-phosphorus ratio, support bone development and skeletal health of livestock, poultry and aquaculture animals.

2.Leavening Agent Act as an acidic leavening component in bakery and baking powder formulations, reacting with bicarbonate to release carbon dioxide and develop product volume.
