Cyanocobalamin vs methylcobalamin
Cyanocobalamin is the most commonly supplemented form of vitamin B12 and is chemically synthesized, can’t be found in nature and contains a cyanide molecule. Methylcobalamin is found in animal-based foods and is therefore obviously naturally occurring, contains a methyl group (carbon and hydrogen). Cyanocobalamin is the main raw material of methylcobalamin. It is more cost-effective and more stable, while Methylcobalamin is less toxic and has better retention.
