Character: white crystal or crystalline powder, it is as sweet as sucrose and can be easily dissolved into water (around 160g/100ml) and leave a cool feeling in the mouth. Slightly dissolved into ethanoland methanol extremely soluble in water.

Uses:
1. Xylitol has been widely used in food industry because of its low calorie, non-carious, difficult to digest characteristic. Its European Union code number is E967. Xylitol is used as a sugar substitute in such manufactured products as drugs, dietary supplements, confections, candy, chocolate, toothpaste, chewing gum and fruit juice drinks.
2. Xylitol is also found as an additive to saline solution for nasal irrigation and has been reported to be effective in improving symptoms of chronic sinusitis.
3. Xylitol can also be incorporated into fabrics to produce a cooling fabric. When moisture, such as sweat, comes into contact with the xylitol embedded in the fabric, it produces a cooling sensation.

Store in tight container as defined in the USP-NF. This material should be handled and stored per label instructions to ensure product integrity. Store in a refrigerator.
